Best of 2016 draft
2016 was a whirlwind. It still is in fact. It’s one of those rubbery years that have fit so much yet still feels like it was over in the blink of an eye. And it’s been a big one for me. Full of epic celebrations, plenty of confetti and a whole bunch of animals. Just how I like it. I travelled for over four months and got to document weddings on three different continents. I connected with the most amazing couples that threw insane weddings and made the worst jokes (I love ’em!) and that has been a blast. Just a blast.
On a personal level 2016 wasn’t as epic. It’s been a rollercoaster year with lots of things happening around me (although not necessarily to me). It’s been a challenge, but it’s been grounding. It’s a bit of a reality check making sure I don’t get caught up in superficial details, but focus on the important things in life: the connections. Because in the end it’s not about who had the prettiest outfits or the most amazing decor. It’s about the people you surround yourself with and the memories you create together. That’s what I want to capture. And that’s what I’ll bring with me into next year.
