On weekends when I have a random day off, turns out I fill it with creative work. It’s been a while since I did any personal work, but when I recently found myself with an empty Saturday I felt the need to push myself. So I found myself an amazing model (say hello to May!), a pretty average looking area (say hello to Gadd St in Northcote), the worst time to shoot in (harsh sunlight in the middle of the day), and promised myself to shoot with lenses I usually don’t use. I left my beloved 35mm behind and ventured into 135mm land and set out to create some play with shadows and make something dramatic. And I reckon I did alright.
